1st time you select “globe” international keyboard icon a notification will pop up. You may toggle between English (or native language) & Emoji keyboard

After the alternative keyboard notification you will be able to toggle back & forth between your favorite emoticons using built in Emoji keyboard for iPhone 5. No more downloading crappy Emoji apps.
